WILDERNESS REINDEER EXPEDITION

Now you also have a chance to participate in a two-day wilderness expedition in a sleigh pulled by reindeer! We pick you up from your place of accommodation at Saariselkä and dress in warm outdoor clothes and gear. We make our way through the land of snow, enjoying the beauty of nature as well as its peace and quiet. When we find the right place to do so, we’ll have a picnic lunch in the wilderness with an open fire, chat and make coffee. As the day turns to dusk in the evening, we’ll arrive at a cabin in the woods, where the first thing we’ll do is free the reindeer from their harnesses and give them some lichen as an evening snack. We’ll warm up the sauna and make ourselves at home in the cabin. After the sauna bath, a reindeer stir-fry with all the fixings is a great taste experience! Group accommodation in the cabin, using sleeping bags. After breakfast, we harness up the reindeer and as the day gets brighter we continue our sleigh ride. We’ll enjoy another picnic lunch with open fire on the terrain, after which it’ll be time to re-turn to the daily routine and Saariselkä.
